Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen with a cutting-edge company at the forefront of in-space propulsion innovation. This organisation is developing advanced technologies to revolutionise satellite propulsion systems and expand the potential of space missions.
As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading systems engineering activities across the full lifecycle from conceptual design and development to integration, verification, and operations. This is a high-impact role within a dynamic and growing engineering team working on truly novel space systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage system-level architecture, design, and requirements development.
- Define and maintain system interfaces and ensure coherent integration across subsystems.
- Perform trade studies, risk analysis, and system performance assessments.
- Coordinate with hardware, software, and propulsion teams to ensure end-to-end functionality.
- Support system integration, testing, and verification planning and execution.
- Prepare technical documentation and contribute to customer and partner interactions.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in systems engineering within the aerospace or space domain.
- Strong knowledge of spacecraft systems, propulsion technologies, and design methodologies.
- Proficiency in MBSE tools (e.g., SysML) and requirements management (e.g., DOORS).
- Experience with ECSS standards and verification processes.
- Excellent communication and team leadership skills.
Desirable:
- Previous work on electric or air-breathing propulsion systems.
- Background in early-stage startups or R&D-heavy environments.
