Are you passionate about robotics, simulation, and building intelligent workflows for real-world applications? We''re looking for a Robotics Intern to help us structure simulation environments and build data pipelines in NVIDIA Isaac Sim, especially for training ML models.
Were not expecting years of experiencebut we do want someone with a solid foundation in Isaac Sim, ML workflows, and ROS2. If you''re a student or early professional with strong projects to show, this could be the right place to grow.
Who We Are
Summon is a robotics company focused on developing intelligent, autonomous systems that integrate seamlessly into real-world environments. We specialize in creating advanced robotic solutions that leverage cutting-edge technologies to enhance efficiency and productivity across various industries. We use a combination of automated tasks and remote teleoperation to guarantee the quality of the services we deliver.
What Youll Work On
- Design and implement structured data collection pipelines for Isaac Simlogging robot states, sensor data, and visuals for ML workflows.
- Assist in setting up proper workflows, versioning, and architecture for simulation-driven training pipelines.
- Integrate simulation with external systems via ROS2, WebSockets, or APIs.
- Support utility scripts for streamlining workflows, batch runs, or dataset generation.
- (Low Priority) Optionally help clean up or refactor parts of our existing USD-based simulation assets and joint setups.
What Were Looking For
- Solid Python programming skills with applied experience in robotics, simulation, or automation pipelines.
- Familiarity with Isaac Sim through scripting; you should have built or modified environments programmatically.
- Understanding of ROS2 and how it connects to simulation environments.
- Exposure to data logging, dataset creation, or simulation-to-ML pipelines.
- Good understanding of machine learning and tools like PyTorch (e.g., supervised learning, dataset preprocessing, basic architectures).
- Good grasp of Git and best practices in version control.
- A decent laptop and stable internet connection for development (cloud compute will be provided for heavier tasks).
Nice to Have
- Project portfolio (GitHub, blog, videos, or demos).
- Experience with HDF5, ROS bag formats, or any structured logging system.
- Familiarity with training pipelines.
- Comfort with working independently and improving internal tooling and automation.
Who You Are
- Youve worked with Isaac Sim and can confidently navigate, script, and extend it.
- Youre not an expert yet, but you have enough understanding to work with data pipelines and contribute to real ML and robotics workflows.
- You care about clean code, meaningful contributions, and getting better with every task.
How to Apply
