Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Interim VP Controller to lead and professionalize the finance function during a critical period of change. This hands-on leadership role will oversee core finance operations, ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, enhance controls, and support strategic initiatives such as pricing optimization, KPI tracking, and system improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the accounting, consolidation, and reporting functions across multiple entities and jurisdictions.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end close, financial statements, and board reporting.
- Drive audit readiness and liaise with external auditors and advisors.
- Upgrade financial controls, policies, and procedures in line with PE standards.
- Partner with FP&A to improve forecasting, budgeting, and SaaS KPI visibility (e.g. ARR, NRR, CAC, LTV).
- Lead or support ERP/finance system improvements and automation initiatives.
- Ensure tax compliance, cash flow forecasting, and working capital management.
- Act as a business partner to functional leaders to support decision-making with financial insight.
- Support the CFO and PE sponsors with data-driven analysis and integration of M&A activities
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Controller or VP Finance in a PE-backed SaaS or tech scale-up.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge
- Track record of improving finance operations and building scalable infrastructure.
- Experience with subscription models and SaaS metrics is essential.
- Skilled in leading teams, mentoring, and driving process improvements.
- Experience with NetSuite
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous, and hands-on environment.
- Fluent in English; other languages are a plus depending on business footprint.
- Ideally background in Audit from the Big 4
