You build infrastructure to ingest, process, and store IoT data streams, ensuring data quality, system reliability, and scalability. You architect data flows and select appropriate tools and technologies for storage and processing in the cloud. You design and develop machine learning infrastructure to train and deploy forecast models. You execute data migration to modern, robust, and scalable systems. You act as a bridge between operations, Data Scientists, and DevOps, so strong interpersonal skills and clear communication are essential.Please note: this position is temporary until 31.12.2025, with the possibility of extension.Your profile:3+ years of experience as a data engineer.Proficiency in Python and SQL.Experience with Pandas and PySpark for data transformation.Experience building big data pipelines.Knowledge of Apache Airflow and similar ETL orchestration tools.Experience with PostgreSQL and data transformation frameworks like dbt.Experience with data streaming and processing tools such as Apache Kafka, Spark, Flink.Familiarity with containerization and deployment tools like Docker and Kubernetes.Experience with cloud services, preferably AWS.Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.Valid work permit for Italy or EU nationality.Degree in computer science, statistics, data science, or related field.Background in software engineering or OOP.Experience with GitLab CI/CD pipelines.Experience deploying machine learning models in production.Knowledge of MLFlow.Interest in Data Architecture.Knowledge of time series databases like Timescale.Interest or experience in energy and sustainability sectors.tiko Italia is a vibrant tech hub in Milano developing solutions for energy saving and Virtual Power Plants.
