The Business Transformation Journey area in Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) focuses on providing a wide range of financial services to large corporates, institutions and corporate banks (Tier I and Tier II) to enrich their service portfolio for their business growth and revenue enhancement purposes.
We are currently looking for a Banking Business Consultant to join our Corporate & Investment Banking practice in Madrid, specialized in the accounting and valuation of financial instruments. Our presence in Global Teams will cover all competences that are relevant to transform business units and to adapt to new regulatory and industry/business trends and requirements, developing new offering according to our client priorities
As a derivative accounting and valuation expert your main responsibilities will involve:
- Understanding of fixed income and derivative markets and (extensive) knowledge of derivatives valuation (swaps, options, etc.).
- Ensure compliance with IFRS 9, 13, 16.
- Hedge accounting for derivatives and accounting treatment for financial assets and liabilities
- Working on cash-flow and settlement prices validation, throughout each stage of product implementation.
- Participation in risk management and validation projects
- Analysis and testing of IT products related to financial products booking and management
- Integrated management through coordination and oversight across all key stakeholders.
What are we looking for?
Specific requirements:
- University degree/double degree (Business Management, Finance, Law, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or a related field would be an advantage).
- Master in Accounting, Business Consulting, Quantitative Finance or a related field.
- Professional experience (2 / 3 years) in Business Consulting and/or Financial Services.
- Professional certifications (e.g., CPA, CFA, ACCA) are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish; other languages advantageous.
- Proficiency with financial IT (Software: Microsoft Office advanced level in Excel and PowerPoint; Familiarity with financial software/tools such as SAP, Bloomberg, or other valuation platforms.
