Each group at ViaSat contributes to the launch of every satellite, how exciting is that?ViaSat is looking for an in-process and Final Quality Inspector to join our growing Quality department. In this position, you will have the opportunity to work on our 2nd shift, freeing up your days and giving you the flexibility to accomplish all the tasks that normally pile up for the weekend. You could run errands, schedule an appointment without missing work, get in a daytime workout when the gym is less crowded, or even catch a few waves at the beach. Your meticulousness and self-motivated attitude will allow you to thrive under limited supervision and perform a variety of tasks to ensure product quality standards are met. Your expertise will allow you to perform in-process and final inspection of complex electronic and mechanical assemblies. Your keen attention to detail will allow you to perform evaluations against design documentation and established Quality Assurance and Workmanship standards and document any inspection defects for appropriate verification by QA Engineering.3+ years of quality experience in an electronics manufacturing environment- Ability to read and interpret schematics, engineering documentation and published Quality and Workmanship standards.- Training in IPC-A-610, MIL-STD-2000 or J-STD-001 solder/workmanship essential.- Experience as an electronics assembler, typically at the Assembler II level or above.- Knowledgeable with PCs, and with Windows, word processing and spreadsheet application software.- Ability to work 2nd shift (ideally 1:30 pm to 9:30 pm with flexibility)- Up to 25% domestic travel- U.S. Government Position. U.S. Citizenship Required- Demonstrated ability to inspect material per IPC-A-610, MIL-STD-2000 or J-STD-001 solder/workmanship standards accurately and correctly.- Experience in Government contracting environment.- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.Our Carlsbad, CA office is just 30 minutes north of San Diego and 5 minutes from the beach.
