Ocean to Earth Recruitment is working on behalf of a leading Irish-owned environmental and infrastructure consultancy to recruit a Senior or Principal Ecologist. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced ecologist to join a growing team and play a key role in delivering high-impact projects across renewable energy, infrastructure, and environmental planning.The successful candidate will be based in one of the client’s offices in Cork, Dublin, or Carlow, with hybrid working options available. You'll be joining a forward-thinking, multi-disciplinary organisation that values innovation, collaboration, and sustainability.Responsibilities: * Lead or manage ecological aspects of a diverse range of projects * Conduct and supervise ecological fieldwork and site surveys * Provide ecological input into planning applications and design processes * Prepare and monitor Construction Environmental Management Plans (CEMPs) * Complete Appropriate Assessments (AAs) and Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs) * Draft high-quality ecological reports and deliverables * Engage with clients and stakeholders; attend project meetings * Act as expert witness at oral hearings (Principal level) * Support team development and contribute to internal quality assuranceRequirements: * Degree in Ecology or a related discipline * Minimum 7 years (Senior) or 10+ years (Principal) experience in environmental consultancy * Membership of CIEEM, CIWEM, or similar professional body * Strong knowledge of Irish conservation legislation and ecological best practices * Proven experience preparing CEMPs, AAs, EcIAs, and biodiversity chapters for EIARs * Excellent report writing, communication, and organisational skills * Comfortable working in multi-disciplinary teams * Full clean driving licence requiredWhat’s on Offer: * Competitive salary tailored to experience level * Shorter working Friday * Medical benefits * Professional membership support * Ongoing CPD and career development opportunities * Inclusive, supportive work culture that promotes flexibility and wellbeingApply NowIf you're ready to take the next step in your ecology career, we’d love to hear from you.
