About Egram Capital Egram Capital invests in a concentrated portfolio of high quality publicly traded businesses in North America and Europe. The fund has a competitive advantage in being majority funded through permanent family office capital, allowing it to make investment decisions with a long-term time horizon. The fund was launched at the end of 2023 and its total investor commitments to date stand at 60m. Ideal Candidate and Role The founder and investment advisor is looking for one/two analyst (s) to join him in the process of building an independent-minded and long-term oriented investment firm. The ideal candidate (s) should be entrepreneurial, self-driven, curious and deeply passionate about reading and investing. Great candidates will have a flexible view of reality, with the ability to update beliefs based on new evidence. The candidate will (i) monitor current investments (quarterly earnings calls, expert interviews, model updates, etc.), (ii) source new investment ideas, (iii) expand the fund by helping source and pitch outside investors, (iv) develop and share new knowledge that could help improve the funds investment process and (v) help with operational processes natural to public equity funds. Compensation Competitive with similar finance roles based in Madrid in terms of salary (exact figures will depend on the individuals experience). A material portion of compensation will be in the form of annual performance bonuses tied to the funds performance and the individuals contribution (these can exceed 100% of salary in years when fund delivers outstanding results). A proven contributor that helps materially improve the funds investment process, business and results will be compensated accordingly, with compensation increasing as the firm grows. They will take on growing responsibilities as the fund scales, sharing in the upside they help create. Qualifications and Skills Proven interest in investing, reading and learning Fluent in English (all work within the fund is in English) 2 years of work experience in an English-speaking setting Strong knowledge of accounting Advanced in financial modelling and Excel Great written and oral communication College degree or higher and a record of excellence in past pursuits (academic/work/other) Responsibilities Real time coverage of portfolio companies Reading, analyzing and summarizing company filings Analysis of long-term financials, accounting methods and assumptions, executive compensation and incentives Listening to earnings calls and summarizing call takeaways Preparation of question lists for expert interviews (former employees, customers, suppliers, competitors, etc.) and for calls with investor relations professionals and management teams Reading and summarizing of transcripts from 3 rd party expert interview networks Conducting interviews via expert networks (with former employees, customers, suppliers, competitors, etc.) Creating and updating public company models Screening public company universe for potential investments Preparation of investor reporting and communication materials Other analyses/readings that could help improve the funds investment process Application Process Please share the following (in English) with : CV/Resume One page (can be informally written) addressing the following: Why you want/like to work in investing Why this opportunity is a right fit for you at this point in your career Why you think you can make a good business partner Your favorite book and why Work authorization status for Spain (Spanish or EU citizenship/need of a visa/other) Investment write up on any public company with a market cap of >1,000m maximum of 2 pages for the write up 2 pages of appendices with any relevant graphs/charts/analyses.
