JDL Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with aleading M&E Contractor who are looking for a MechanicalQuantity Surveyor to join their data centre project team in Milan,Italy. The role of Mechanical Quantity Surveyor will have youworking across various contracts located within Milan, Italyensuring the maximum commercial benefit for the company and willentail a cradle to grave delivery from tender stage through tofinal accounts and all-encompassing duties in between. This is arotational role available on an expat package, which includes aliving allowance, accommodation and flights. Responsibilities: -Skilled at budgeting, reporting, developing BOQs, profit plans. -Good communication skills. Undertake and manage interim commercialmeetings with the Client and Internal Project Team. Report indetail as required for the Project Manager on the commercial statusof the project. - Manage subcontractor accounts, interim valuationsand final accounts. Ensure payment certificates are processed andpayments are made per the agreed sub-contract and procurementterms. Retentions apply as per agreements. - Working for thecontractor, the Mechanical Quantity Surveyor will have the abilityto administer the contract obligations and meet additional Clientrequirements. Issue interim and final accounts and progressapplications per project and contract requirements. Monthlyapplications to be all inclusive of accurate remeasures, sitechanges, dayworks and any applicable contract claims. Identifyescalations, material or labour, as appropriate. - Ability toidentify potential commercial risks and ensure prompt reporting ofsame to Senior Management. Follow direction of Senior Management inundertaking work duties. - Have a practical understanding ofscheduling and the associated commercial implications. Ensure closecollaboration with Planning Engineer regarding accuracy of progressreporting. - Capable of costing and agreeing daily work changes toinclude managing the subcontractor remeasurement of contract works,site dayworks and site change orders. - Maintain accurate recordsand provide necessary detailed backup to support commercialtracking and costing. - Ability to work on own initiative and canprioritise without direction. - Speed and accuracy of information apriority. - Negotiate, as necessary, with clients or theirrepresentatives. - Set an example of enthusiasm, loyalty and hardwork in the performance of all duties. Requirements: - Minimum 4+years of Quantity surveying experience essential on MechanicalProjects. - 3rd level qualification in Construction Economics /Quantity Surveying ideally coupled with a technical background aseither Plumber/Pipefitter (or similar) or Mechanical Engineer -Experience working on mechanical value projects in-excess of5million within the data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial orcommercial sectors. - Proficient in excel. - Detailed knowledge ofcommercial management and QS Role within construction - Knowledgeof contract conditions and their applications - Overallunderstanding of the business, client and Sub Contractor relations,and installations - Excellent Communication/Interpersonal Skills -Excellent Record Keeping and Administration Skills - Process drivenand focused on EHS and Quality Work Management Systems andProcesses
