Position Overview:
The CHRO is responsible for designing and implementing human resource strategies, aligning HR functions with school goals, hiring and retaining staff, and managing school culture. The CHRO advises the School Executive, providing insights into workplace needs through policy and best practices. The role involves working as part of G3a core group with the Head of School, CFO, and CHROand is central to strategic decision-making.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Predict outcomes by assessing how changes affect the schools goal achievement, based on organizational knowledge.
- Diagnose problems by analyzing causes within the school''s social systems, identifying bottlenecks and friction points.
- Prescribe actions to leverage human capital for value creation.
Responsibilities include:
- Defining and monitoring HR strategy aligned with school objectives, ensuring the school remains an employer of choice with excellent HR services.
- Finalizing the HR Policy Suite per NEASC standards and establishing review processes for continuous improvement.
- Actively participating in the School Executive, advising on culture, development, and performance management.
- Developing career and professional development plans for staff.
- Promoting inclusion and reinforcing the schools position as an equal-opportunity employer.
- Overseeing the employee lifecycle, including onboarding and departure processes.
- Evaluating training programs and developing HR policies across all operations.
- Analyzing HR procedures for effectiveness and ensuring alignment with the schools vision, mission, and values.
Functions:
- Leading the HR division, responsible for all HR-related staff and activities.
- Managing employee relations, benefits, labor relations, and related duties.
- Coordinating between staff and management, resolving workplace conflicts.
- Ensuring compliance with employment laws through ongoing research and strategic planning.
- Overseeing recruitment and talent acquisition strategies.
- Providing training and development opportunities to staff.
- Monitoring policies and HR functions for regulatory compliance.
- Collaborating with the CFO to assess KPIs and budget to achieve HR objectives.
- Supporting the schools mission and strategic vision through HR initiatives.
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience as a CHRO or similar executive role.
- Expertise in strategic planning, policy development, and HR management.
- Comprehensive knowledge of HR functions and team-building skills.
- Hands-on experience with HR software to optimize processes.
- Strong understanding of labor legislation.
- Masters Degree in Human Resources, Organizational Psychology, or related field, preferably in an educational setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships.
- Discretion and professionalism in handling sensitive information.
- Problem-solving skills and adaptability to a dynamic environment.
