The group financial controller leads the accounting team in Belgium and coordinates external accountants in other European countries. Key responsibilities include managing financial reporting and overseeing budgets, consolidation programs, taxation and audits as well as continuously promoting improvements. For this position, we are looking for an inspirational financial expert eager to lead a dynamic finance team. The group financial controller will operate from our HQ in Belgium.

Job description
- Lead the accounting team in Belgium and coordinate accountants in other European countries.
- Ensure effective financial controls and manage country reporting.
- Prepare and analyze consolidated IFRS figures.
- Implement new consolidation/reporting programs.
- Oversee budgets, financial reporting cycles, and forecasts.
- Manage annual audits and ensure timely compliance.
- Handle group taxation affairs and liaise with tax advisers.
- Lead continuous improvement projects in the finance department.
- Manage ad hoc reporting and ensure staff training and development.
- Network with key internal and external stakeholders.
Your profile
- University degree in Finance / Accounting
- Over 7 years of experience in finance within audit and / or business control, preferably in real estate
- Team player with an analytical mind who is strongly interested in real-estate, cost control and optimizing performance and manages to report accurately even in stressful situations
- Fluent in Dutch and English preferably also knowledge of French
