Role Title : Lean Director, Europe Location : UK, France, Netherlands or Czech Republic preferred Reporting to : COO for Europe and Rest of World Role summary: We are seeking a Lean director to spearhead transformative process enhancements and champion operational excellence. This is a key role helping to build a world class operations management eco-system driving meaningful impact and value add to the business. The Lean Director is responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives across Europe. This role will focus on driving cost savings through waste elimination, while meeting customer service performance metrics. By applying Lean methodologies and other continuous improvement processes and tools. The individual will help identify projects and initiatives, execute breakthrough improvement projects and implement management systems that help sustain performance and drive incremental improvements, doing so while building organizational capability in Operational Excellence and Operations Management. The role will work closely with assigned countries operational teams and cross-functional teams. Key Responsibilities: Cost Productivity - Sponsor cost productivity goals developing a culture of Operational Excellence that enables a competitive advantage. Identification of Projects. Lead Integrated Deck Building (IDB) Workshops. A structured approach to identify and prioritize cost saving projects and initiatives to meet country cost saving goals. Breakthrough Projects. Lead needle mover projects through Kaizens using relevant lean tools like VSM and Standardized Work. Operations Management System - implement and enhance existing operations management systems to sustain performance, problem solve and enable incremental continuous improvement. Build Organizational Capability alongside day-to-day key responsibilities identify, mentor and develop future operational and lean practitioners. Change Management: Champion and manage the implementation of process changes effectively by supporting teams through training, communication, and monitoring driving ongoing transformation and improvement. Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with senior leadership, operational leads, and teams in pursuit of cost productivity goals. Qualifications: Education: Bachelors degree in Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. A Masters degree or MBA is a plus. Experience: 10+ years of experience in operations, process improvement, and lean ideally within automotive or electronics or similar industries with significant manual processing improvements . Proven track record of leading operational excellence initiatives, including Lean tools and methodologies including TPS, standard work etc. Experience with project management and driving change within a global and matrixed organization.
