Veolia Water Technologies & Solutions is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join the European Indirect Procurement team and support the "Logistics & Transportation" category. This role will initially manage the European Rate Desk and provide quotes for non-recurring ocean, air, and road transport to internal stakeholders. The role will eventually expand to include the Water Technologies Business to finally cover the complete Veolia Water Tech Zone in Europe. The Indirect Procurement Specialist will additionally support the Senior Indirect Procurement Category Manager with smaller Projects in the Logistics & Transportation area for Europe.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Support the European Veolia Water Tech Zone business with their non-recurring logistics pricing requests for air, ocean and road transportation modes
- Liaise with suppliers and carriers to deliver timely quotes to internal stakeholders
- Negotiate the received offers to improve the quotes received
- Assist in solving additional questions from the carriers to make sure they understand the business requirements
- Maintain detailed records of the Rate Desk requests & track KPI performance
- Contribute to continuous improvement of logistics processes and procedures
- Drive smaller indirect procurement tasks within the logistics & transportation category
Requirements
- Strong negotiation skills & understanding of purchasing processes
- Good understanding of logistics and transportation requirements & processes
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Good analytical skills to evaluate Rate Desk performance versus the defined KPIs
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-service mentality
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently
Good to have requirements
- Bachelor''s degree in Logistics and/or Supply Chain Management or related fields
- Internship or relevant experience in logistics or supply chain management
- 2-3 years experience in a commercial or procurement role
- Experience with working in SAP and in the GOOGLE environment
- Adaptability to changing priorities and fast-paced work environments
- Commitment to delivering excellent service
Language Requirements
- Fluent in English (written & spoken)
- Knowledge of Hungarian, Dutch, French, German or any other European language is a plus
