This is a temporary position starting on June 2nd, 2025, with a seven-month contract. We are also open to contractor (freelance) arrangements, depending on the candidates profile and availability. The role is office-based in Mlaga, with a hybrid working model (2 days per week in the office)

As an IT Project Manager , you will be tasked with a range of technical projects, owning their entire life cycle from inception to deployment, including operational handover. These projects can range from Data Centre Technology transformation, Security, Infrastructure and Corporate initiatives.

You may also contribute to company-wide programs of work, representing and coordinating the tasks for the CIO function.

You must be an enthusiastic and dynamic professional who is passionate about delivering a great product and should be excited by the challenges associated with a wide range of projects. The position requires someone that is able to work within a very diverse team and for a wide array of stakeholders in different time zones (both technical and non-technical), and has high organizational and planning skills.

You should have a strong character and a willingness to try new things and dive in. You will be an excellent communicator, have strong organisational skills and have the confidence to challenge stakeholders where necessary.

Key responsibilities include:

Project Managing a range of IT projects, ownership of the entire project life cycle from inception to deployment and operational handover.
Working with key stakeholders, other project managers within the organisation and external vendors to establish overall project plan, milestones and timelines.
Agreeing and capturing the project objectives, high-level scope, timeline, budget and key deliverables with project sponsor and key stakeholders
Working with project sponsor and key stakeholders on requirements gathering
Establishing and owning the overall project plan, milestones and timelines
Proactively identifying, capturing and managing risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies and decisions in an organised, structured and coherent way, escalating risks where necessary
Resource management and task tracking of projects managed.
Directing and motivating project teams by demonstrating effective leadership skills, ensuring commitments are being upheld
Preparing and proactively disseminating project documentation (e.g. Project Charter, Project Plan, Status Reports Risk Log) to sponsor and all stakeholders, ensuring it is up to date, fit for purpose and correctly used throughout the project lifecycle
Managing stakeholder relationships and expectations, by providing regular project updates, keeping them appraised on the strategy, adjustments, progress, issue resolution and project results
Ensuring that the products/deliverables are reviewed and tested, and that they meet the agreed acceptance criteria
Ensuring the agreed solution is fit for purpose, supportable is accepted into operational support
Ensuring that all lessons learnt are captured, and that a benefits realisation plan has been produced.
Serving as a mediator to internal issues and conflicting priorities for members of cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing solutions to clients
Weekly reporting, using existing framework to inform stakeholders or Steering Committee as appropriate on project progress, risks and issues to ensure the projects overall direction and integrity; proactively managing sponsor and stakeholder expectations
Working with other project managers in the team to deliver wider programmes of work.

Requirements

6+ years of experience in a similar role
Experience working with complex integrated projects programme delivery
Exposure to DevOps practices
Excellent communication skills with ability to build relationships (i.e. across architecture, engineering, product, 3rd party vendors suppliers)
Experience with risk, issue, resource and dependency management
Proven experience of working across various IT platforms, both On-premise and Cloud
Proven experience of delivery high availability projects in platform with high transactional demands
Experience working with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
Extremely organized with a strong attention to detail
Knowledge of the basic concepts and technologies at IT level such us networking, storage, virtualization, cloud, etc.
Knowledge of the basic concepts on IT processes. Highly recommended ITIL knowledge.
Can work independently or as part of a wider programme reporting into the Programme manager.
Ability to work well under pressure
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities
Nice to have experience working with public cloud providers
Great communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills
