About the role:
Angove Partners is partnering with a top international Insurance Brokerage to hire a Senior Compliance Manager. This role will support the Chief Risk Officer in ensuring that the companys European offices meet all regulatory requirements. You'll be responsible for managing the Conduct Risk Framework, overseeing compliance reporting, and ensuring positive customer outcomes across various European countries, including Luxembourg, France, and Germany. Youll take the lead on regulatory change projects, provide expert compliance advice, and help the business navigate new regulations. Your expertise will be key in maintaining strong relationships with regulators and driving ongoing improvements in compliance across the European offices.
Responsibilities Include:
- Support the Chief Risk Officer in ensuring the regulatory frameworks across European offices comply with applicable legislative requirements.
- Manage the Conduct Risk Framework for Europe, including oversight of the Conduct Risk Committee, POG, and conduct-related policies.
- Oversee compliance reporting to ensure good customer outcomes across multiple European jurisdictions, including Luxembourg, France, and Germany.
- Provide compliance advice to various teams and departments within the business.
- Guide the business in interpreting and implementing new regulatory developments in line with company policy.
- Maintain strong relationships with relevant regulators, ensuring appropriate representation and responsiveness.
- Collaborate with the Compliance Monitoring Team to identify emerging risks and trends that may affect European offices, clients, or market counterparties.
- Organize and conduct training sessions for European offices to ensure staff are up to date on compliance requirements.
- Support continuous improvement of compliance processes and policies across their European offices.
About you:
- University degree in Law, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field.
- Professional certification in compliance, risk, or insurance.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in compliance, legal, or risk functions within insurance or financial services.
- Fluent in French and English required. Knowledge of any other European languages would be beneficial
- Proven experience in interpreting and applying insurance regulatory requirements, with expertise in compliance systems and controls.
- Strong knowledge of the Insurance Distribution Directive (IDD) and other relevant EU insurance regulations, particularly related to insurance broking.
- Experience working across multiple EU jurisdictions, including Luxembourg and France, with a deep understanding of conduct risk controls and customer outcomes.
- Strong project management skills, particularly in leading regulatory change initiatives and ensuring compliance with emerging regulations.
- Ability to provide clear, concise compliance advice and support business units in implementing regulatory changes effectively.
- Expertise in identifying and addressing emerging risks across European offices, contributing to ongoing improvements in compliance processes.
