IT Network Security Engineer II (Remote) - Full-time, Netherlands, United Kingdom

In this role, you will represent the Enterprise ICT Organization in network and security infrastructure services. This individual will implement and maintain network security infrastructures and compliance initiatives, requiring knowledge of best practices and procedures related to network and security infrastructures. Responsibilities include implementing security procedures, configuring security software, and managing security functions across multiple platforms.

Responsibilities

1. Implement and maintain network security infrastructures
2. Monitor system performance
3. Stay updated on security threats and new technologies
4. Support network security solutions to protect against cyber threats
5. Collaborate with engineers and handle escalated issues
6. Configure and maintain firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and other security tools
7. Monitor network traffic and respond to incidents
8. Review and recommend network design improvements
9. Perform security audits and risk assessments

About you

• 3-5 years of experience in Network and Information Security
• Strong troubleshooting skills
• Knowledge of Firewalls (Cisco/FortiGate preferred), VPN, IDS/IPS, NAC (Cisco ISE preferred), and Cloud (AWS/Azure)
• Basic Routing and Switching knowledge
• Understanding of LAN, WAN, and networking technologies
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Strong multitasking skills across projects
• High security standards when handling sensitive information
• Ability to analyze logs and events
• Professional certifications are a plus
• Flexibility to work outside regular hours occasionally
