**Description**: The Math Interventionist is responsible for delivering math intervention and instruction to students at a 6-8th grade school with three unique programs (General Education, Sheltered English Immersion, and Self-Contained Academics). The Interventionist will support students who are identified as at-risk and/or performing significantly below grade level. S/he will also support students in our accelerated math program, with a focus on students who are still adjusting to the rigors of accelerated coursework. Finally, the Interventionist will play a leadership role in the ongoing development of our schools intervention program, and s/he will help facilitate professional collaboration for teacher teams as they implement this program.The Math Interventionist reports to the Head of the Upper School.Responsibilities: Work closely with building administration to establish and maintain a shared vision for mathematics intervention.Collaborate with teachers to coordinate intervention efforts and support teachers in providing intervention to students.Administer assessments to identify students who are at-risk and/or performing significantly below grade level. Implement small-group interventions for students identified as at-risk, either in class or out of class.Utilize progress-monitoring tools to document student growth and differentiate intervention instruction. Communicate with school personnel and families regarding each students math proficiency and growth.Teach one or two sections of accelerated mathematics. Provide small-group support to students who are adjusting to the rigors of accelerated coursework.
