The Opportunity The Chief Compliance officer WL NV/SA manages the local branch compliance officers worldwide. Ensuring that appropriate compliance processes are in place across WL NV SA and its branches worldwide. To meet the compliance Global standards, policies and international regulatory requirements, and to identify and manage current and emerging compliance risks and issues. Day-to-Day Responsibilities Identifying and assessing compliance risks and controls for Worldline NV SA. Compliance risks are potential events or situations that could adversely affect the group''s or its subsidiaries'' ability to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or internal policies. Examples of compliance risks include money laundering, fraud, data protection breaches, sanctions violations, or regulatory fines. Establishing, deploying and monitoring the implementation of the Compliance Programme Develop and adapt an appropriate compliance governance structure, working to ensure that laws, rules and ethical principles relevant to business activities are observed. Ensure that information/reports required by Global compliance team are delivered in accordance with the timeline and guidance set by Global compliance team. Manage relationship with other stakeholders at local level with regulators Manage and lead the compliance department Assess the effectiveness of controls and continuously improve them Coordinate with other functions such as legal and HR department Asses future business activities to identify potential compliance risks Inform the WL NV SA Board and WL Global compliance function on the main risks Supervises and controls the proper implementation of remediation actions resulting from Group internal audits in relation with compliance Investigate and propose opportunities to improve Group Compliance efficiencies by using new technology Build the trust with regulators and inform Group compliance and other stakeholders according responsibilities Steering the implementation of Group projects in the Worldline SA NV entity / branches Ensure the regulatory watch. Coordinate with non-core compliance activities (data protection and activities). Participate to the New Product Approval Project (NPAP). Monitoring the amendment or publication of new relevant laws, legal regulations, ordinances, regulatory requirements (eg EU Directive or RTS, etc) and maintaining a corresponding legal register. Conducting compliance training / creating awareness for compliance topics. Identify the compliance SPOCS and establish relationship to share compliance obligation and advise on regulatory evolutions Reports/notifications to supervisory authorities in accordance with Law. In practice, this means: Bachelor''s or Master''s degree in Law, Risk or a related field Minimum 15 years of professional experience in Compliance/Law/Risks You are a certified compliance officer Proven track record of successful experiences in significant regulated institution Good knowledge of compliance requirements, practices and principles Understanding of International insurance regulatory environment (eg PSD3, DORA, GDPR, AMLA, Settlement Finality Directive ...) Able to deal with issues at operational level though the ability to translate specialized regulatory requirements and technology into value-added processes that are meaningful for businesses Best practice understanding of Information Security and Data Governance practices Experience in conducting a risk-based audits and monitoring including experience in quantifying, managing & mitigating risk Partnered with digital and data teams Experience in project management Knowledge of systemic processor legislation is a plus Good knowledge of internal control and audit methodologies Ability to present compliance assessments results to Board audience Ability to manage regulator inspection, formulate answer such remediation plan and status. Stay abreast of emerging compliance technologies and practices to identify opportunities for efficiency and effectiveness in compliance operations Fluent in English and French, Dutch or German is a plus.
