Security Clearance: NATO Secret Position overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Service Engineer to join our team for an early engagement project. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in defining and managing requirements, overseeing systems development, and ensuring seamless systems integration and build processes. Key responsibilities Requirements definition and managementDefine and manage scoping, requirements definition, and prioritization activities for medium-sized and complex initiativesContribute to selecting the requirements approachFacilitate input from stakeholders, provide constructive challenge, and enable effective prioritization of requirementsEstablish requirements baselines, obtain formal agreement to requirements, and ensure traceability to source Systems development managementPlan and drive systems development projects supporting organizational objectives and plansSelect, adopt, and adapt appropriate systems development methods, tools, and techniquesEnsure stakeholders are aware of required resources and that they are made availableFacilitate the availability and optimum utilization of resourcesMonitor and report on the progress of development projectsEnsure projects are carried out in accordance with agreed architectures, standards, methods, and tools, addressing security and privacy requirementsDevelop roadmaps to communicate future development activity Systems integration and buildProvide technical expertise to enable the configuration of system components and equipment for systems testingCollaborate with technical teams to develop and agree on system integration plans and report on progressDefine complex/new integration buildsEnsure that integration test environments are correctly configuredDesign, perform, and report results of tests of the integration buildIdentify and document system integration components for recording in the configuration management systemRecommend and implement improvements to processes and tools Additional dutiesCollaborate with and facilitate internal and external communication to fully document business needs and indicate solutions if requiredSupport the creation of requirements that meet the strategic needs of the businessTake responsibility for understanding client requirements, collecting data, supporting analysis, and problem resolutionSupport coherence, standardization efforts, assure quality of products, and alignment across systems in the use of optimal technologies, leading to faster implementation and reduced maintenance costsContribute to early Solution Architecting team activities related to customer support for upcoming requirementsAct as the interface to the CTO Early Engagement to allow the smooth transition of customer requirements to the project teamsMaintain active links with customersPromote and enforce outsourcing of commodity servicesPromote transition from assets to servicesDeputize for higher-grade staff if requiredPerform other duties as may be required Qualifications EducationBachelor's degree from a nationally recognized/certified university in a related discipline and 2 years of post-related experienceAlternatively, at least 6 years of extensive and progressive expertise in duties related to the function of the post may compensate for the lack of a university degree ExperienceExperience with drafting ICT design and/or software development and planning of system and software delivery for large projectsExperience in identifying and assessing new and emerging technologies and their adoption into larger systemsExperience in developing technology roadmaps considering emerging technology solutionsExperience managing relationships with technical stakeholders (internal and external)Proven ability to apply analytical and systems thinking to complex problemsProven ability to moderate technical design-related discussions with multi-disciplinary teamsProven experience presenting complex technical concepts to diverse and sometimes non-technical audiences Desirable experienceProven ability in process analysis and design techniques, including needs assessment, specification development, planning, and gap analysisKnowledge in The Open Group Togaf, ArchiMate, ITIL, COBIT, CISSP, or equivalentKnowledge and experience with Military systems requirement capture, analysis, and specifications Working conditionsNormal office environment.May require travel to other sites within Belgium 1-2 times per month
