The Benelux practice has a broad and diversified client base, working with most insurers present in the market. The team currently comprises consultants, consulting actuaries, and data scientists across a range of experience levels and practice areas, totaling around 50 people.

Role Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include some of the following:

1. Supporting and engaging with clients by leading projects in all aspects of actuarial work including model development, capital management, reserving, and reporting.
2. Working on the development of the business and building client relations.
3. Leading project teams, managing the work of other team members, reviewing the quality and progress to ensure timely and accurate delivery to the client.
4. Contributing to the development of the companys intellectual capital including plans for taking this to market.
5. Leveraging knowledge through training, development, and mentoring of other colleagues within Milliman.

Who Are We Looking For?

Milliman Brussels is looking for a senior actuarial and financial risk professional with working experience and relevant technical skills in the Belgian life insurance market, risk, and/or balance sheet management. You will bring your own unique experience, which will help you to further develop within our organization. You will be working with a team of actuaries on projects primarily with life insurance clients, but potentially also with health and non-life insurance clients.

The perfect Milliman candidate should be bright, energetic, able to maintain and develop client working relations, manage work, and be a motivator for our analysts and consultants.

Requirements:

1. Actuarial consulting and/or relevant technical and managerial experience
2. 7+ years of relevant working experience in Belgian life insurance, risk, and/or balance sheet management
3. Actuarial or technical studies background
4. Fellow of the IA|BE or a similar association
5. Energetic, intelligent, and self-motivated
6. Entrepreneurial, able to maintain and develop client working relations
7. Effective communication skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills
8. Fluency in English and either French or Dutch
