About the Role
As a Business Controller at AAK, you will play a key role in providing financial insights and driving performance improvements throughout the organization. Your main responsibilities will include supporting the month-end and year-end closing processes, preparing budgets, and collaborating closely with budget holders and management. Through detailed analysis and reporting of key performance indicators (KPIs) and cost structures, you will identify opportunities for efficiency and optimization.
Working in a dynamic environment, you will collaborate with various departments such as production, sales, HR, and continuous improvement teams. Your contribution will be essential in financial studies, project management, and delivering actionable advice to ensure strong financial control.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, including engaging with budget holders and management.
- Support the budgeting process for various cost centers (Direct Cost), including updates and follow-ups.
- Analyze and report on KPIs, providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
- Investigate deviations from standards (Statistical Data) and propose corrective actions.
- Maintain and optimize the cost price structure (BOM - Bill of Materials).
- Support internal and external audits.
- Conduct financial studies and participate in project-based activities.
- Monitor critical performance indicators such as raw material waste, finished product waste, production costs, and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
- Develop business cases and manage the financial aspects of projects.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar role within a production company.
- Bachelors degree in Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with SAP and SAP BW.
- Proficiency in Dutch and English, both written and spoken.
- Strong analytical mindset with a focus on results.
- Ability to work independently with a proactive approach.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across various teams and organizational levels.
- High level of confidentiality and discretion.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable participating in monthly plant site meetings and engaging with project teams.
