We are currently seeking a high-calibre professional to join our team as a Managing Associate General Counsel, Financial Crime Legal Advisory in Switzerland. Are you interested? Do you have significant experience advising senior management? Do you enjoy being part of a cohesive team?

What you will do:

This role serves as a financial crime legal expert globally, with subject matter expertise in Swiss, EU, UK, UN, US, and other relevant financial crime legal regimes. It supports the Banks strategic direction regarding FC laws, policies, and compliance within the context of global legal and regulatory requirements.

In this role, you will:

• Serve as counsel and subject matter expert on FC legal issues, including complex matters with potential legal, financial, and reputational impacts for HSBC.
• Provide legal advice on Swiss, EU, UK, UN, US, and other relevant FC laws to ensure compliance and manage legal, compliance, and reputational risks.
• Support efforts to manage the Banks FC and related reputational risks proactively and practically.
• Identify emerging trends in FC legal requirements, engage with stakeholders, and develop mitigation strategies.
• Develop and deliver training on FC legal risks at global, regional, and local levels as needed.

Requirements:

• Expert knowledge of financial crime laws, including anti-money laundering, sanctions, anti-bribery, corruption, and fraud laws in Switzerland and other jurisdictions where HSBC operates.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate across diverse geographies and cultures.
• Ability to interpret and solve complex challenges involving multiple jurisdictions.
• Experience handling complex regulatory matters and confidential interactions with regulators.
• Sound judgment and prioritization skills.
• Proactive problem-solving skills, detail-oriented, and meticulous follow-up.
• Qualified Lawyer with significant post-educational legal experience.
