Operates a Medical Center motor vehicle in order to complete a variety of pick-up and delivery assignments. This includes, but not necessarily limited to: mail, medical records, supplies, and patient specimens intended for laboratory testing. Ensures vehicle is maintained in a clean and safe condition and follows organizational safe driving policies. Maintains documentation on route sheets of destinations, pick-up and delivery times. Interacts with clients on a daily basis and executes excellent customer service and positive communication skills. Carefully follows route instructions and documentation needed in order to ensure clear lab specimen accountability so that there is a lack of lost specimens and/or late pick-ups that would affect lab testing and patient outcomes.Qualifications**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS**:Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions in order to receive work assignments and determine pick-up/delivery locations.High school diploma or equivalent/GED required.Current and appropriate State drivers license required.Approximately one to six weeks on the job training/experience necessary in order to become familiar with various Medical Center locations, learn pick-up/delivery schedules and Medical Center policies and procedures. Training time is depending on shift worked and how many routes the courier will be trained to.Ability to communicate effectively with customers of the Laboratory and all clients served.Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
