**Job Overview**:The internal investigator role supports all internal and Organized Retail Crime (ORC) investigations for Bloomingdales. They prepare case summary reports, identify trends and opportunities and make corrective recommendations. The internal investigator also supports their assigned market/trade area of business by providing leadership, expertise, and training of the (APM) Asset Protection Managers in their assigned stores for the reduction of inventory shortage and controllable losses. The primary focus of the Internal Investigator lies in supporting and developing the APMs to become independent in all aspects of Internal and support ORC Investigations, driving all investigative programs, and managing high profile investigations.**Essential Functions**:- Develop and manage the overall internal Investigation and ORC strategy for assigned market/trade area.- Effectively communicate and execute AP plans and programs.- Build, maintain, and enhance the credibility of the stores Asset Protection Department.- Identify and communicate site-specific ideas and programs for the betterment of the stores and shortage results.- Administer and enforce the policies and standards of the Asset Protection Department.- Responsible for the training, development and performance of the Asset Protection team in regards to but not limited to Interview training, red flag training, Internal investigation, ORC, loyalty, reseller and excessive refunds Investigations.- Perform in person and phone integrity interviews.- Review and analyze field interviews and provide feedback and training.- Develop an open line of communication with AP, store staffs and executives.- Build partnerships with Law Enforcement as well as other retailers- Responsible for all internal and ORC case management, including the training of the Asset Protection Managers to initiate, fully investigate, bring to a timely conclusion and analyze the process of internal investigations.- Effectively coach, train, and develop the Asset Protection staff of each store on all of the investigative resources.- Develop investigations through exception reporting and trend analysis.**Qualifications**:**Education/Experience**:- A minimum of 5 years of experience within the retail industry with a focus on Asset Protection, Operations, and Training.- A 4 year college degree- A current Certified Forensic Interview Certification (CFI) is preferred**Communication Skills**:Able to effectively communicate with all levels of management and build partnerships with both internal and external customer.**Other Skills**:Must possess a high level of understanding of all investigative resources including, systems, CCTV, exception reports, core programs, stores operational procedures and interview techniques**Work Hours**:Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and store/company needs.This job description is not all inclusive.
