My client, located in the Eindhoven area in The Netherlands, is part of one of the worlds largest suppliers to the IC manufacturing industry. And no, it is not ASML!The team specializes in the development of high-tech software tools for the generation, definition and validation of semiconductor designs and layouts. It has various highly complex algorithms and performance challenges.The ideal candidate is an experienced software engineer that has developed complex algorithms to efficiently find solutions for very complex optimization problems. Key responsibilitiesWork with a team of algorithmic specialists to design, create, develop and test algorithms to solve the complex challengesImplement the algorithms for proof of concept and production softwareInterface with internal customers for requirements analysis and scheduleCompile data for regularly scheduled or special reports, analysis, and statementsShared ownership of significantly sized softwareKey requirementsMathematical creativity and analytical skills to create and optimize algorithms from scratchHas deep knowledge of combinatorial optimization algorithms, including but not limited to graph algorithms, dynamic programming, back-tracking and the corresponding data-structuresProven abilities to analyze algorithmic complexity (both memory and runtime)Background in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or other relevant background with more than 10 years of relevant experienceIs known to the use of heuristics to solve NP-complete problemsExperience with developing software for the EDA or Semiconductor business is a nice to haveExperience in larger software engineering projects, working in a teamFluent in C++Fluent in EnglishWilling to relocate to the Eindhoven areaMy client has an excellent remuneration package with a 110k+ salary, excellent bonus opportunity, company stock plan and car allowance, depending on experience.
