We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced Compliance Officer to ensure our business operations and transactions comply with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements, internal policies, and Group guidelines. You will be part of the Compliance and Internal Control Department, reporting directly to the Head of Compliance and Internal Control.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development, implementation, and maintenance of an effective compliance program
- Establish and monitor sound internal controls
- Draft, review, and update internal policies and procedures
- Investigate and handle alerts/incidents from monitoring and screening systems
- Advise business units and senior management on compliance-related matters
- Act as a second line of defense, monitoring processes, practices, and documentation
- Evaluate business activities and conduct integrity risk assessments
- Collaborate closely with internal departments and Group compliance teams
- Prepare periodic reports for regulators, management, and Group headquarters
- Participate in and follow up on compliance-related IT projects
Preferred Qualifications Skills:
- Minimum of 23 years of relevant experience in a compliance role within financial institutions or banks
- Solid understanding of Dutch and EU regulatory frameworks (AML/CFT, Sanctions, KYC/CDD, Corporate Governance, GDPR, MiFID, etc.)
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Law, Compliance, Economics, Finance, or related fields
- Affinity with professional standards and industry best practices
- Strong communication skills, integrity, and ability to work collaboratively across teams
- Pragmatic, self-driven, analytical mindset with a keen eye for detail
- Fluency in Dutch and English (proficiency in Turkish is a strong plus)
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g. CAMS, CGSS, Certified Compliance Ethics Professional) are an advantage
- Familiarity with Sustainability/ESG developments in the financial sector is a plus
