Job Purpose:
Through in-field scientific engagement with healthcare providers (HCPs) and external experts, the Medical Science Liaison (MSL) fosters a more educated healthcare environment by:
- Communicating their deep knowledge of ViiV data in the context of overall patient care to ensure evidence-based understanding of the science behind ViiV medicines.
- Gathering valuable insights on ViiV products and services and on medical and scientific information to better understand patient needs and evidence gaps.

Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in scientific dialogue with external experts about ViiV medicines, enabling them to confidently discuss our portfolio and identify suitable patients for the most appropriate medicines.
- Act as an expert speaker at scientific events to disseminate information to HCPs and stimulate clinical dialogue.
- Implement and optimize medical digital projects.
- Respond to unsolicited medical information requests from HCPs in a factual and scientifically rigorous manner.
- Serve as the interface between healthcare professionals and the internal ViiV medical team, providing valuable insights.
- Disseminate safety information to HCPs as needed.
- Collaborate with Account Managers and Commercial colleagues to ensure aligned strategies.
- Partner with matrix colleagues (sales, marketing, market access) to ensure strategies are patient- and business-focused.
- Provide scientific education to business partners, such as training for Account Managers on HIV medicines.
- Coordinate local Investigator Sponsored Studies and support global studies involving Belgian sites.
- Manage HCO grant applications.
- Maintain expertise in scientific and therapeutic areas, including competitor medicines.
- Attend scientific meetings and congresses to stay current and engage with external experts.
- Ensure compliance with GSK standards, policies, and local regulations.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
- Higher degree in life sciences (PhD, MSc, or equivalent) or relevant healthcare qualification with experience.
- At least 3 years of pharmaceutical industry experience engaging in scientific exchange with external experts.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical Degree.
- Expertise in infectious diseases and/or HIV.
- Fluency in French and English.
- Research experience with publications.
- Strong scientific, analytical, and creative skills.
- Patient-focused, ethical, and visionary mindset.
- Independent, proactive, and innovative working style.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to build trust-based relationships.
