FunctieomschrijvingJob Title: Functional Safety Engineer
Location: DAF Vehicle Development Vehicle Definition Department
We are seeking a skilled Functional Safety Engineer with strong expertise in controls engineering and ISO 26262 standards. In this role, you will lead the development of Functional Safety concepts for future DAF vehicles, working within a multidisciplinary team and collaborating across PACCAR divisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define Functional Safety concepts and deliverables (Item Definition, HARA, FSC) per ISO 26262.
- Develop and implement strategies for Functional Safety processes and tools.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure safety requirements are met.
- Stay current with innovations in automotive safety and controls engineering.
Functie-eisen - MSc. or PhD, ideally in Automotive, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering,
- Minimum of 5 years relevant working experience in the automotive domain,
- Solid foundation in controls engineering and in-depth knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink,
- Practical experience with and knowledge of Functional Safety ISO26262,
- Ability to do in-depth risk analyses while maintaining a high level overview,
- Ability to actively approach different stakeholders and be the connecting element,
- Fluent in English, effective communication in both verbal and written form is a must.
- Pre: Experience in with IBM DOORS Next Generation (DNG) tooling.
- Pre: Certification in the ISO 26262 standard.
