Office Administrator (with Bookkeeping Knowledge)

A Japanese-owned dairy trading company based in Amsterdam Zuid is currently seeking an experienced and proactive Office Administrator to support their executive team. This role combines administrative support with essential bookkeeping and payroll tasks. The ideal candidate will be fluent in Japanese, possess a foundational understanding of bookkeeping practices, and be comfortable coordinating travel and day-to-day operations for a frequently traveling director.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a support role with a wide range of responsibilities, and who thrives in a structured but flexible international business environment.

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS:

WORK TYPE: Hybrid Office-based in Amsterdam Zuid with 4 remote work days per month (flexible)

VISA SUPPORT: No

TYPE: 1-year fixed-term contract (renewal possible)

WORKING HOURS: 09:0017:00 (60-minute lunch break)

FLEX TIME: Not currently implemented, but can be considered

SALARY: 2,800/month 12 months + 8% holiday allowance + 13th month

START: As soon as possible (until August 2025)

Main Responsibilities:

Arrange the directors business travel (flights, hotels, restaurant bookings)

Maintain internal cashbooks and handle petty cash

Assist with payroll administration

Record basic bookkeeping entries and coordinate with external accounting firms for monthly and annual closings

Support daily administrative and office tasks

Serve as a reliable point of contact for internal and external communications

Perform other general assistant duties as needed

Ideal Candidate:

Fluent in Japanese (must), English proficiency required

Basic knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting processes

Previous experience in an administrative or assistant role preferred

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Detail-oriented and able to handle confidential information with discretion

Friendly and professional demeanor a strong team player

Experience arranging executive-level travel and scheduling is a plus

Female candidates are preferred for team balance
