Role Purpose: The role supports the Review of Monthly Trial balance with Critical / Key Ledger analysis with Balance sheet reconciliations for the Country responsibility assigned by S & C regional Lead / GPO. Active role in the Local Financial statements preparation and Audits. Coordinate and provide accurate data to the global outsourced provider, respond to queries, resolve issues and reviews documents that are prepared by the outsourced provider before sign-off and filing. This also includes support in management of local statutory invoicing outside of the Groups ERP system. Key Responsibilities Provide the requested audit information on a timely and accurate manner. By understanding what the request is, understanding the reconciliations behind the GL balance and proactively taking action to ensure all the information is provided meeting the deadline. Organise documents that the auditors will require such as financial statements, management accounts, supplier invoices, supplier contracts, customer invoices, customer contracts, bank statements, timesheets, balance sheet reconciliation, payroll reconciliation, among other information which will aid the auditor gain better understanding of the company and its operations. Ensure the information provided to the auditors is accurate and delivered on time. Attend to all queries the auditor may have or redirect them to the right individual department within the organisation. Participate in update meetings with the LRQA Finance teams and Group Audit team. Keep daily track of the progress on the submission of the audit requests and provide explanation and suggestions to the Group Audit Liaison Manager on any outstanding items. Review the global information requests received from the External Auditor (collated by MHA in the UK) and allocate to the appropriate owner in the LRQA Finance community, if escalation is needed. Following the completion of the audit, the Audit Liaison Coordinator should also suggest new internal controls and process improvements to address any weaknesses identified during the audit. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate the following: Bachelors degree in accounting and/or ACCA/CA/CPA or local equivalent courses. Experience of international external audit engagements through either relevant role in industry or within an audit practice. 5 - 10 years professional accounting experience and managing Statutory audits independently. Standard working knowledge of English and preferably one or more local languages. Knowledge of local compliance requirements for tax, accounting and reporting and willingness to understand Global. Understanding of audit methodology, International Standards on Auditing, i.e., What auditors are required to do and the quality of information they need to conclude on their audit testing. Highly numerate with an eye for detail. Problem-solving attitude. Good understanding of and facility in working with and reporting from financial systems. Experience of consolidations, multi-currency, variance analysis and good presentational and reporting skills. Be a key team player that actively engages and supports others. Must possess good communication and negotiation skills and is able to tailor and structure communication to specific audiences. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Excel, Word and PowerPoint with advanced techniques is desirable. Experience in SAP is essential and knowledge of ByD is an added advantage.
