Are you the Vehicle Layout Engineer who will shape the vehicle concepts of the future?
The Vehicle Layout department is part of our Product Development organization and plays a key role in defining vehicle layout concepts, component arrangements, and delivering input for the Programme Description Book. Our team comprises seven Vehicle Layout Engineers and Property Owners, working across multiple vehicle development projects.
Job Description
- Lead and support packaging teams in creating new vehicle layout concepts that serve as input for subsequent development phases, actively participating in Simultaneous Engineering (SE) teams;
- Prepare and facilitate DMU sessions, where 3D vehicle models are reviewed with stakeholders to assess design progress, maturity, and readiness;
- Consider input from all relevant stakeholdersincluding Engineering, Operations, After Sales, and Product Planningwhen developing layout concepts;
- Utilize your broad understanding of the product, its applications, and customer requirements to guide your design decisions;
- Conduct feasibility studies, preliminary investigations, and define design criteria and constraints.
Candidate Profile
- You hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering or Automotive Engineering;
- Are a strong team player with excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills in English;
- Have a proactive, results-driven, and pragmatic mindset, and can work effectively across all levels of the organization;
- Can translate customer and end-user requirements into clear technical solutions;
- Possess solid technical knowledge and strong analytical skills.
