Our client is a dynamic, global asset management and hedge fund group with representation in Europe and North America. Due to a long-term succession plan, they are now looking to appoint a new Chief Financial Officer to oversee their finance department and play a key role in business strategy.

This role will work directly with the CEO and the founders of the business. As a small to mid-sized company, they are ideally seeking a less experienced Deputy Head of Finance or junior CFO who is looking to make the next step in their career and whom they can invest in for the long-term.

You should ideally have at least 7-10 years of experience within a senior finance or internal audit role within an asset management, hedge fund, or private equity firm. Exposure to both equity and fixed income funds is an advantage.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for all administrative, accounting, financial, and tax functions across the group.
  2. Leading the finance and administration department, including staff oversight of 2 finance professionals.
  3. Advising executive management on financial, tax, and accounting matters.
  4. Ensuring compliance with tax regulations, particularly transfer pricing.
  5. Managing relationships with third parties such as accounting firms, statutory auditors, and advisors.
  6. Managing cash flow: daily monitoring, forecasting, and investments.
  7. Handling all corporate administrative and legal secretarial duties, including articles of association, general meetings, minutes, statutory records, and regulatory compliance.
  8. Managing relationships with service providers such as lawyers, insurers, office managers, and suppliers.
  9. Producing regulatory financial reports for authorities like the AMF in France, FCA, and SEC, in collaboration with the Compliance department, and responding to Due Diligence Questionnaires.
  10. Overseeing management control and accounting information systems.
  11. Conducting financial and strategic analysis, including modeling, profitability and risk simulations, and decision support.

Skills Required

  1. 7-10 years of experience within a senior finance function, ideally including time at an audit or accounting firm and then in a similar role within asset management, hedge fund, or private equity firm.
  2. Higher education in finance, accounting, or management, such as a business school or equivalent Masters degree.
  3. Fluent in English, both written and spoken, in an international context.
  4. Strong command of IT tools including office software, accounting software, and ERP systems.
