Hybrid working, ideally from a base in Milan; however, London is also feasibleCompany: WiseEnergyTHE ROLEWe have an opportunity for an experienced leader, with deep and broad technical expertise in renewable energy, to join the Technical Operations team of WiseEnergy, a leading global asset manager, which is part of the NextEnergy Group. The ideal candidate should have solid knowledge and experience in solar PV; expertise in other technologies such as wind and battery storage are also highly valued. The primary purpose of the role is to support our operational asset management teams to drive the superior performance of assets under management, and to define and execute the global technical strategy. You will oversee daily activities when needed, help team members solve problems, and provide mentorship across the technical operations department. Our team is mainly based in London and Milan, with staff also in Hyderabad, USA, Chile, Portugal, Poland, and Spain.KEY RESPONSIBILITIESInnovation & EfficiencyFoster a culture of quality, effectiveness, and efficiency. Identify and implement process improvements. Drive innovation projects through digitalization and efficient working methods.Stakeholder Management & CommunicationCollaborate with WiseEnergy departments and Group-level teams (ESG, Funds, Portfolio Managers, Construction, Finance, IT) to optimize PV plant performance. Influence senior management and stakeholders, communicate technical concepts clearly, and build trusting relationships with clients.Technical ExpertiseDrive superior performance of PV assets, manage contractual frameworks, and ensure timely delivery of asset management services. Build strong relationships with O&Ms and technical service providers. Act as the senior interface on technical issues, manage claims, and participate in high-level meetings with senior clients and stakeholders.Experience & Qualifications10+ years in renewable energy or related fields, with an engineering degree or equivalent experience. Right to work in Italy or the UK.Skills & CompetenciesLeadership & ManagementProven ability to set vision, develop strategies, and manage teams, preferably with P&L accountability. International experience managing technical teams and delivering projects across countries such as UK, Italy, India, Spain, Portugal, US, Chile. Strong problem-solving skills and drive for technical excellence.Stakeholder Management & CommunicationExcellent communication skills in English and Italian; ability to handle conflicts and negotiate fair solutions; fluency in a third language is a plus.Technical ExpertiseDeep knowledge of renewable assets, from development to operation and optimization. Ability to manage complex projects independently.
