Robert Half is currently looking for a General Accounting Team Leader (m/f/x) for a permanent position based in Brussels.
Our client is an international and growing company active in the energy sector. You will report to the Accounting Manager, work in a team of nine persons and manage three persons.
As General Accounting Team Leader (m/f/x) you will be responsible for:
- Oversee general, asset, and analytical accounting for the Belgian companies and legal entities within the Group;
- Lead, coordinate, and support a dedicated team of three individuals;
- Contribute to the development of our operations and assist in establishing new legal entities focused;
- Plan, coordinate, and analyse month-end closings according to Belgian GAAP standards, working closely with teams in the Accounting Department and other departments;
- Prepare reports for internal stakeholders such as management, the Audit Committee, and the Board of Directors, and external stakeholders. Collaborate on regulatory reporting and margin calculations for the regulated legal entities;
- Identify opportunities for process improvements, digitalisation, and automation;
- Participate in the SAP rollout for newly established legal entities of the Group in Belgium and internationally. Support foreign subsidiaries with their new and/or complex accounting entries;
- Assist auditors with their tasks.
The required profile for the General Accounting Team Leader (m/f/x) position:
- Bachelor''s degree in accounting, or a master''s degree in economics, applied economics, business engineering, or a related field, with a major in accounting or auditing;
- Demonstrated experience in managing a team;
- Highly analytical and critical mindset with a genuine passion for working with numbers and financial data;
- Good knowledge of Belgian GAAP is required and familiarity with IFRS is a plus;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Knowledge of SAP is an advantage;
- Organized, results-oriented team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong sense of initiative;
- Client-focused with excellent communication skills;
- Fluent in either Dutch or French, with a good command of the other language and English.
