Logistics Specialist Steel Team (Ref: MF46353)

A well-established Japanese trading house is currently seeking a Logistics Specialist to join its Steel Team. In this multifaceted role, you will be deeply involved in the coordination and execution of international logistics operationsranging from documentation and shipment arrangements to carrier selection and customs clearance support.

SALARY: 50k per year including the holiday allowance

Main Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage transportation documents and shipping-related paperwork
• Arrange and coordinate domestic and international logistics, including scheduling and tracking
• Select appropriate ocean carriers with a focus on cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency
• Support the customs clearance process in cooperation with certified personnel
• Analyse global shipping market data and assist in freight rate forecasting
• Develop and optimize logistics networks, including import, export, and cross-border (triangular) trade
• Coordinate and manage chartering and shipment operations
• Build and maintain strong relationships with logistics providers and shipping companies
• Support negotiation of trade conditions with ocean carriers
• Prepare transportation contracts with overseas clients
• Assist in concluding and managing international transportation agreements
• Monitor and respond to changes in market conditions to ensure logistical efficiency

Ideal Candidate:

• At least 3 years of relevant experience
• Deep interest in global logistics and the shipping industry
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret logistics data and trends
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Previous experience in freight forwarding is a plus
• Strong personal network within logistics or shipping sectors is highly valued
• Familiarity with international transportation contracts is beneficial
• Fluent in English and Japanese
• Experience working with or within Asian corporations would be an advantage
