AVASK Global Compliance is a rapidly expanding firm that specialises in international VAT and tax and accounting for e-commerce businesses that are located internationally and in Italy.
AVASK are recommended External Tax Advisors under the Amazon Global Selling Programme and assist hundreds of Amazon FBA sellers, eBay, Shopify and many other platforms. On top of this, it provides its clients with a comprehensive range of expertise - from providing practical guidance on cross-border transactions, making sure that they are fully compliant and assisting on their group structures and tax advisory services. AVASK are now looking to recruit a Senior Indirect Tax Consultant to provide support in our Madrid based Office.
Senior Indirect Tax Consultant, the role:
- Draft articles relevant to industry/tax updates for sign-off by VAT Technical Manager.
- Research industry/tax news and update VAT Technical Manager on ad-hoc basis.
- Assist VAT Technical Manager with testing of features relevant to the development of company software projects (e.g. Infiniti) on ad-hoc basis.
- Assist where required in preparation and creation of processes relevant to the VAT Compliance department.
- Conduct end-to-end audits of client accounts allocated to you on a monthly basis by Indirect Tax Manager/VAT Technical Manager. This end-to-end audit will involve:
- Manual calculation/segregation of data to ensure Infiniti calculations are accurate
- Full audit of VAT returns filed by partners to ensure filings are being made accurately and in line with data sent from Infiniti.
- Inspect and examine client portal to ensure that figures displayed to client are accurate and in line with data sent from Infiniti and filed by partners.
- A final check on the clients Infiniti, CRM and Shared Folder details should be made to check that they have been correctly audited previously.
- Enthusiastic manager with ability to create, sustain and manage effective teams.
Senior Indirect Tax Consultant, the person:
- Experience working in VAT/Accountancy/Finance department.
- Confident and with excellent communication skills for client interaction and engagement.
- Relevant and recognised VAT DIPLOMA / ATT / CTA / Tax Law or Law Degree.
- Excellent verbal and writing skills.
- Organised and proven ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Works well in a small team as well as independently.
- Excellent multi-tasking ability.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills: the ability to identify, network with and manage key stakeholders, building and maintaining effective working relationships.
- Exceptional numerical and analytical ability, combined with a willingness to get involved at a detailed functional level as necessary.
- Ability to leverage technology, identifying opportunities to improve processes and productivity.
- Capability to develop new skills and understand new technology as required.
- Experience or knowledge of International E-Commerce.
