Position Overview: The Oslo Center is at a pivotal moment in its evolution, rapidly expanding into a globally recognized hub for democratic resilience, good governance, and youth empowerment. As we extend our reach and impact, we seek a bold, visionary leader to take the helm as Executive Director and drive our mission forward with strategic insight, operational excellence, and responsible financial leadership.

In this role, you wont just oversee an organizationyoull shape its future, guiding a dedicated and diverse international team toward innovative solutions that strengthen democracy. The ideal candidate is an inspiring leader with a deep commitment to global change, capable of forging partnerships, navigating complex international landscapes, and accelerating our expansion into new regions.

This includes leading our mission to empower young leaders worldwide, equipping the next generation with the tools and opportunities to become active participants in democratic processes.

This full-time position is offered on an initial three-year renewable contract, with a six-month probationary period. We provide a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide strategic leadership and direction to the organization.
• Oversee the development and implementation of programs and initiatives that align with the Center''s mission and goals.
• Manage the organization''s financial health, including budgeting, fundraising, and financial reporting.
• Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, partners, and government agencies.
• Represent The Oslo Center at national and international forums, conferences, and events.
• Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and ethical standards.
• Lead and mentor a team of dedicated professionals, promoting a culture of collaboration and excellence.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a senior leadership role within a non-profit or similar organization.
• Strong understanding of international relations, human rights, and democratic governance.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
• Excellent financial management skills, including budgeting and fundraising.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally is essential.
• Deep understanding of democratic systems, electoral processes, and democratic institution-building is required.
• Experience working in or with partners in developing countries is highly desirable.
• Candidates must have the legal right to work in either Norway or Switzerland or be eligible to obtain a work visa.
• Master''s degree in a relevant field (e.g., International Relations, Political Science, Public Administration) is preferred.
