The Adventure
Join the Group Digital Team at BME as an Azure Sr. Data Engineer and play a pivotal role in driving our digital transformation. As part of a dynamic and innovative team, you will contribute to developing BMEs digital backbone with a focus on building and optimizing data platforms using cutting-edge tools like Azure Databricks and Apache Spark.

Key Responsibilities
- Data Lake Development: Build and maintain scalable, secure Data Lakes using Azure Databricks and Delta Lake.
- Source Integration: Establish connections to diverse systems via APIs, ODBC, Event Hubs, and sFTP protocols.
- ETL/ELT Pipelines: Design and optimize data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Databricks, and Apache Spark to handle large-scale, real-time data.
- Medallion Architecture: Implement Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers using formats like Delta, Parquet, and JSON for data transformation.
- Data Modeling: Develop and optimize data models using star schema and slowly changing dimensions for analytics and operations.
- Data Governance: Ensure robust data security with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Unity Catalog.
- Performance Optimization: Tune pipelines, optimize queries, and implement CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps.
- Collaboration: Work closely with data scientists, IT teams, and business stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
Profile
- Experience: At least 5+ years as an Azure Data Engineer in complex enterprise environments.
- Technical Expertise:
- Proficiency with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Synapse Analytics, and Azure Storage.
- Strong skills in SQL, Python, and data modeling techniques.
- Familiarity with data formats like Parquet and JSON.
- Experience with AI/ML model management on Azure Databricks.
- Education: Bachelors degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Certifications (Preferred):
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Language Skills: Fluency in English is mandatory

Location
