The Wiper provides general assistance to Engine Officers and Petty Officers in tasks within the Engine Room, including:
- General maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment
- Material handling equipment operation, including elevators and winches
- Cleaning and painting of the engine room
- Trash collection and tools/instruments cleaning
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Work in accordance with acceptable standards, avoiding material wastage, and adhering to injury prevention rules.
- Follow daily instructions from the Foreman regarding maintenance and cleanliness of engine spaces and machinery.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 kg.
- Participate in emergency lifesaving procedures and drills, demonstrating physical capability.
- Possess intermediate oral and written English skills for work and safety communication.
- Preferably have previous experience in a related field.
VISA AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
All necessary certifications, including visas, must be obtained and comply with STCW 95 standards and the Flag State requirements of the ship to which the candidate is assigned.
