EIM the trade association representing the independent rail infrastructure managers in Europe is seeking for a Policy and Legal Trainee to join its policy department and support the advocacy work. The training assignment is initially limited to a period of 6 month but can be extended.
Main Responsibilities
The trainee will support the legal and policy expert of EIM. He/she will be tasked with analysing elements of EU legal and policy initiatives relevant for rail infrastructure managers and the wider railway sector. The tasks of the trainee include producing presentations, conducting research in specific areas of expertise and assisting in the organisation of internal and external meetings. The trainee will also be involved in EIMs external activities to promote the position and interests of EIM and its members.
Essential Requirements
University degree, preferably in law, European affairs, or another relevant field;
Interest in EU rail-related policy topics;
Good know-how of the EU legislative and decision-making procedures;
Good command of English, the working language of EIM. Any other European language (e.g. FR, DE) is an asset;
A positive and collaborative mindset is essential;
A friendly attitude and a team spirit that lifts others up are must-haves.

For the duration of the placement the trainee shall be provided with:
1.Professional Integration Contract following the Belgian legislation (+/- 1250 EUR net per month).
2.Reimbursement of public transport and lunch vouchers of 8 EUR per working day.
3.One monthly return ticket from Brussels to the home country.
4.Possibility for French courses 4 hours a week.
