Position Overview: As a Senior Instrumentation Control Engineer, you will lead the design, implementation, and optimization of instrumentation and control systems for major projects, such as FPSO and FLNG facilities. Leveraging your extensive experience and technical expertise in instrumentation engineering, you will provide strategic direction, mentorship, and technical leadership to the engineering team, ensuring the successful execution of projects in accordance with project requirements and industry standards. The ideal candidate must have a strong background in the offshore oil and gas industry and be an expert in instrumentation, control, and automation engineering. This role provides strategic focus in concept engineering for conceptual, pre-FEED, FEED, and EPC(I) projects being bid in the offshore sector, including FPSO or FLNG facilities as well as other fixed and floating platforms. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of instrumentation and control systems for industrial processes, including sensors, transmitters, instrument valves (PCV, on/off valve), controllers, and final control elements, ensuring accuracy, reliability, and compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements. To lead and coordinate all project Instrumentation Control engineering issues related to equipment specification, procurement, and installation design, including but not limited to the preparation of specifications, selection of suppliers, review of vendor data, testing, development and maintenance of the instrument database, etc. Collaborate with project stakeholders, including process engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers, to understand project requirements, assess control strategies, and develop technical solutions. Liaison with other disciplines on packages and support the construction site team during installation and commissioning phase. Develop detailed instrument specifications, data sheets, and drawings, including loop diagrams, wiring diagrams, and installation details, using CAD software and other design tools. Ensure that all Instrumentation Control designs and engineering activities comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations. Review project specifications and client requirements to ensure alignment with project deliverables. Prepare formal responses to comments from classification societies and clients on specifications and drawings. Conduct feasibility studies and technical evaluations to assess the performance, reliability, and safety of instrumentation systems, identifying opportunities for optimization and enhancement. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers, reviewing their work, providing feedback, and supporting their professional development in instrumentation engineering. Oversee the installation, commissioning, and startup of instrumentation systems, ensuring adherence to project schedules, budgetary constraints, and quality standards. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the team. Encourage collaboration and knowledge exchange to enhance collective expertise of the engineering team. Develop and maintain documentation, including instrument index, calibration records, standard design methodologies and specifications, maintenance procedures, and safety manuals, ensuring accuracy and completeness for regulatory compliance and as-built documentation. To keep abreast of relevant developments in Instrumentation engineering with respect to the offshore industry in general and the company''s business in particular. Qualifications: Bachelors or masters degree in electrical engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 10 years of experience in instrumentation engineering, with a focus on design, implementation, and optimization of instrumentation and control systems for industrial processes. Experience in offshore topside design is a plus. Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools used in instrumentation engineering. Strong knowledge of instrumentation principle
