Join a team where innovation meets excellence, and your contributions shape the future of space exploration.What's the challenge?As a GNC/AOCS Engineer, you will be integrated into our GNC/AOCS Competence Centre within the Flight Systems Business Unit. You will support new growth areas in Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC), including Attitude and Orbit Control Systems (AOCS), and Failure Detection, Isolation, and Recovery (FDIR).Your contributions will include:Designing, implementing, and validating AOCS and FDIR algorithms for Earth-observation, interplanetary, and ADR/IOS satellitesDesigning, implementing, and validating GNC and FDIR algorithms for satellites, launchers, and re-entry vehiclesSpecifying and supporting the procurement of sensors and actuators for GNC and AOCS systemsModel-based design implementation of GNC/AOCS algorithmsDesigning, implementing, and testing simulatorsSimulating dynamic systems and creating mathematical modelsSpecifying and validating GNC/AOCS solutionsAnalyzing and making trade-offs for hardware solutionsInterfacing with the overall system teamManaging technical tasks and team responsibilitiesWhat do we need?Educational Background:A recognized engineering degree (Mechanical, Aerospace, Electrical, Electronic) or a related degree (e.G., Physics, Maths)Desired Education:Postgraduate studies (MSc or PhD) with a focus on aeronautical/aerospace engineering, providing a solid background in at least two of the following areas:Orbital mechanics and atmospheric flight dynamicsFDIR design, implementation, and validationClassical and robust control techniques (including fixed-structure H synthesis, analysis, LPV control)Flight operationsModel-based system engineeringProfessional Experience:At least 3 years of experience in the practical application of domains relevant to the position (relevant MSc PhD studies considered).Desired: 5 or more years of experience. Additional industrial and/or academic experience is highly regarded.Technical Requirements:Strong background in control and simulation of dynamic systemsPractical experience in aeronautical/aerospace GNC/AOCS and FDIR solutions (experience in ESA/European programs is welcome)Ability to understand and apply new concepts to engineering problemsGood programming skillsExperience with Matlab and SimulinkAdditional valued skills include:Experience in flight operations within ESA/European programsExperience in atmospheric flightSolid theoretical background in GNC/AOCSBackground in multivariable robust controlExperience with Python and CLanguage Skills:Good level of English, both spoken and writtenPersonal Attributes:Ability to integrate and work within a teamSelf-initiativeAutonomy and self-developmentResponsibility towards the customer and colleaguesWhat Do We Offer?
