As our Senior Staff Engineer, you will be the technical authority for our EDA tool environment, including vendors like Ansys, Comsol, and Cadence. You will drive the development and enhancement of simulation methodologies, guiding our talented engineering teams. A key part of your responsibilities will be to challenge and effectively guide the integration of more automation and AI solutions into our design processes.
What youll do:
- EDA & Simulation Leadership: Own and advance our EDA toolchain (Ansys, Comsol, Cadence, etc.) and develop/refine innovative simulation methodologies.
- Methodology Guidance: Act as the primary technical expert for simulation methodologies, driving best practices and mentoring engineers in their application.
- Automation & AI Integration: Lead the charge in identifying and implementing automation and AI/ML opportunities within our EDA tools and design workflows.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner with design, layout, and technology teams to ensure optimized and effective simulation solutions.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay ahead of industry trends in EDA, simulation, AI, and automation, bringing new capabilities into our design flow.
You are best equipped for this task if you have:
- Education: Masters or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related (or Bachelor''s with extensive relevant experience).
- Deep Experience: 8-10+ years in EM simulation methodology, and design flow development.
- Domain knowledge: Experience with Package and Chip-Package-Board design & simulation.
- Tool Expertise: Strong proficiency with 3D Electromagnetic simulation software from Ansys, Cadence tools is essential. Experience with Keysight ADS, Comsol or similar is a plus.
- Leadership & Mentoring: Proven ability to technically guide and mentor engineers. Ability to drive complex technical projects to success.
- Automation & AI Savvy: Solid scripting skills (Python, Tcl, etc.) for automation and a strong understanding or experience in applying AI/ML to EDA/design. Experience in Unix (scripting) environment is a plus.
- Technical Acumen: Hands-on practical experience in electrical/electromagnetic, thermal, and multiphysics simulation. Experience with one or more of the following is desired: System-in-Package, Heterogeneous Integration, Chiplets, 3D-IC, or similar.
- Collaboration & Communication: Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with an ability to work effectively across globalteams.
We offer competitive salaries and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. The employment is in accordance with the collective salary and wage agreement for employees of the electrical and electronics industry, employment group H (https://www.feei.at/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/minimum-salaries-white-collar-workers-2024.pdf). The monthly salary is paid 14 times p.a. We offer a higher compensation depending on your expertise and skills.
