ABOUTYOUR ROLE We are looking to hire a dedicated Legal Counsel for a 4months temporary contract to join our Legal and Compliance team.That opportunity may possibly lead to a longer term employmentcontract. You will report to the General Counsel, work with andsupport the Senior legal and compliance Counsel and differentbusiness departments. You will be a key contributor to thedeployment of legal projects for the entities of the Group,Descartes Insurance, Descartes Underwriting and their affiliatesoutside France. Your responsibilities would include: - Looking atinsurance regulatory questions and providing advice to comply withapplicable laws and regulations in areas where the Group operates;- Assistance in the review and strengthening of legal wording ofinsurance policies, reinsurance contracts other insurance relateddocumentation; - Provision of guidance to the local teams,sometimes with the support of external legal advisers formaintenance of license including preparation of regulatory filings,identifications of regulatory constraints and guidance to thebusiness team; - Arrange for legal watch on the development ofinsurance laws and regulations; - Work on coordination of themaintenance of proper insurance covers for the Descartes entities(professional indemnity etc...); - Assistance in the review ofcommercial contracts, non-disclosure agreements, cooperationagreements. ABOUT YOU EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS - Up to 3years of experience in legal positions either in-house or in a lawfirm, at least part of it working for the insurance industry oradvising insurers or insurance brokers; - Preferably someexperience in the drafting of insurance policy wording, ofreinsurance arrangements and/or on advising on some insurance lawquestions; - A masters degree (in France or abroad) in the fieldof insurance law is a plus; - Candidates with limited prior workingexperience (internships, alternance only) will be considered ifthey have some academic background on insurance law. SKILLS - Someknowledge of insurance law; - Drafting skills; - Analytic,pragmatic; - Good communication skills (written and verbal); -Fluency in French and English (oral and written).
