Job Purpose:
Through in-field scientific engagement with healthcare providers (HCPs) and external experts (EEs), as Medical Science Liaison (MSL), you foster a more educated healthcare environment by:
- Communicating & engaging in peer-to-peer discussions with HCPs & EEs on treatment guidelines and practices, and answering challenging questions from healthcare professionals;
- Sharing deep knowledge of GSK data in the context of overall patient care to promote evidence-based understanding of GSK medicines and vaccines;
- Gathering insights on GSK products, services, and medical information to better understand patient needs and evidence gaps.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in one-to-one scientific dialogue with external experts about GSKs medicines, enabling confident discussions and appropriate patient selection;
- Act as an expert speaker at scientific events to disseminate information and stimulate clinical dialogue;
- Respond to unsolicited Medical Information requests from healthcare providers in a fair, factual, and scientifically rigorous manner;
- Bridge between the healthcare community and GSK medical team, bringing valuable insights to inform various activities;
- Collaborate with Commercial colleagues to foster a team-oriented environment;
- Partner with matrix colleagues (sales, marketing, market access) to align strategies that are patient and business-focused;
- Disseminate safety information as it emerges;
- Engage early and continuously with Clinical Operations during studies to ensure scientific exchange and study performance;
- Support GSK study teams with scientific education and enquiry management;
- Provide scientific training to business partners such as Key Account Managers;
- Maintain expertise in the scientific/therapeutic area and competitor medicines;
- Attend scientific meetings to stay updated and engage in scientific discussions;
- Ensure compliance with GSK standards, policies, and local regulations.
Why you?
Basic Qualifications:
Higher degree in life sciences (PhD, MSc, or equivalent) or professional healthcare qualification (e.g., physician, surgeon, physiotherapist, pharmacist), with experience in scientific exchange with external experts (e.g., 3+ years in pharmaceutical industry).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Medical Degree (MD, MBBS, MPharm, PharmD)
- Expertise in respiratory medicines (inhaled and biologicals)
- Fluent bilingual in French/English
- Strong academic background with research experience and publications
