And thats where you come in.Job LocationFirenze, Italy (Hybrid)Job ObjectiveThe General Project Manager is responsible for the overall management and success of the project. They manage projects related to Communication and Control Systems for Metro systems, ensuring all objectivestechnical, operational, economical, financial, and businessare achieved within the scheduled time, budget, and quality standards. They lead project execution, coordinate with customers, and collaborate closely with discipline-specific Project Managers and company functions. The role includes ensuring contract completion with a focus on quality, HSE, timelines, costs, resources, and client satisfaction for successful project delivery.Key ResponsibilitiesManage the project to ensure predefined results are achieved on time, within budget, and with the expected quality.Ensure full compliance with safety requirements and the implementation of the Safety Plan in collaboration with the Safety Manager.Define and develop the customer relationship strategy, understanding client environment, interfaces, and responsibilities.Identify all project stakeholders, understand their influences and expectations, and develop management plans for each, aiming for a win-win approach where possible.Plan and coordinate project activities and resources with team members and company functions to meet project milestones.Manage contractual terms and oversee project scope and changes.Organize and plan the project using management tools such as Primavera.Supervise production and integration of project-related systems, including supply chain management and engineering interfaces.Monitor project progress against the schedule and manage project profitability, implementing necessary actions to maximize profit.Supervise and coordinate system validation, verification, commissioning, maintenance, and warranty activities, supported by the Project Design Authority.Support the preparation and validation of the project Statement of Work, scope, contractual issues, and risk assumptions.Establish project structure, including organization and team roles.Manage assigned Project Managers and establish internal targets aligned with contractual requirements.Develop and implement the Project Management Plan (PMP) and approve procedures and processes.Manage project risks, including contingency and mitigation plans.Define key performance indicators such as schedule, budget, and quality metrics.Handle activities related to Variations to Contractual Scope of Work with the employer.Represent the company and project to clients, ensuring solutions meet purchase requirements and project objectives.Focus on risk and opportunity management to anticipate issues.Close out the project upon completion.Skills, Experience, and QualificationsUniversity Degree in Engineering (Electronics, Telecommunication, or Informatics) or equivalent professional experience.Minimum 10 years of experience as a Project Manager or General Project Manager.At least 5 years of experience in projects related to Communication and Control systems.Strong technical knowledge of communication, control, security, and passenger information systems used in metro or railway environments.Proficiency in Italian and English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.Willingness to work abroad for medium/long-term periods (>3 years) and undertake worldwide business missions.Experience working in at least two countries for a minimum of three years each.Excellent team management and resource coordination skills, even without hierarchical reporting lines.Strong organizational and multi-team coordination skills.Autonomous, proactive, and entrepreneurial attitude.Ability to understand and manage business aspects behind projects.Extensive experience managing complex projects in multicultural, multidisciplinary environments with challenging targets.Thank you for your interest in Hitachi Rail.
