Overview:
As the European Lead Scout at Al-Qadsiah Club, you will be responsible for managing scouting operations within a designated region. You will identify and evaluate first-team and emerging talent, ensuring all scouting aligns with the clubs methodology, recruitment strategy, and long-term objectives. You will also support academy integration and contribute to collaborative recruitment planning.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management
- Lead and manage the scouting team for your designated region
- Ensure scouts follow the established methodology and framework
- Provide ongoing support and development for regional scouts
Scouting Strategy and Alignment
- Operate within the club's recruitment methodology and strategic objectives
- Conduct regular reviews to ensure alignment with scouting targets and expectations
Player Evaluation and Reporting
- Attend live and online matches to evaluate player performance
- Conduct in-depth research on leagues and players as directed
- Produce detailed and structured reports using club templates
- Present findings and support informed recruitment decisions
Networking and Relationship Building
- Build a regional network with clubs, agents, and fellow scouts
- Gather insights on player availability, development, and fit for the club
Collaboration with Technical Staff and Leadership
- Collaborate with the Chief Scout and Technical Director to ensure player suitability
- Support strategic planning with insights into regional player markets
- Present reports and scouting analysis to senior stakeholders
Professional Development and Continuous Learning
- Participate in CPD activities as required by the Chief Scout
- Remain current on league dynamics, scouting tools, and player trends
- Fulfill other responsibilities as directed to meet departmental needs
Qualifications
Desirable:
- Scouting certification (e.g. PFSA, UEFA Talent ID, or equivalent)
- Coaching qualifications (UEFA License or equivalent)
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
Essential:
- Experience in scouting or recruitment for a professional football club or federation
- Proven talent identification and player evaluation abilities
- In-depth knowledge of tactical, technical, and physical attributes of elite players
- Strong familiarity with the football landscape in your designated region
- Ability to assess players in line with club philosophy
- Skilled in both live and video scouting, with a structured reporting style
- Understanding of recruitment and squad planning strategies
- Proficient in scouting software and data tools
- Strong networking and relationship-building skills
- Self-motivated and capable of working independently
- Flexible to travel, including weekends and evenings
- Valid driver's license
Desirable:
- Leadership experience managing scouting teams
- Confident presenting insights to executive leadership
- Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East
