For a customer in Brussels, I am searching for a freelance Functional Analyst to support the third phase of a digital transformation program for a key government platform. This role is essential to ensuring smooth collaboration between business stakeholders and IT teams as the platform continues to evolve.

The consultant will coordinate workshops with business users, gather and analyse functional requirements, and translate them into clear and actionable IT deliverables. Working closely with developers and architects, you will help shape sustainable solutions within a complex technical landscape.

Responsibilities

• Organise and facilitate workshops with business stakeholders
• Gather, analyse, and document business requirements
• Translate functional needs into IT designs and user stories
• Collaborate with developers to ensure accurate implementation
• Review test cases and validate solution outcomes against requirements
• Support business teams during UAT and rollout phases
• Maintain documentation and contribute to continuous improvement

Profile

• Relevant experience as a Functional Analyst in IT transformation projects
• Strong ability to work across technical and business domains
• Experience in diverse technical environments; exposure to Java-based systems is a strong plus
• Skilled in requirement gathering, functional design, and documentation
• Excellent communication and coordination skills
• Proactive, structured, and capable of working independently
