Our client is a main contractor in the Navy and shipbuilding industry and is currently hiring an Italian Combat System Architect for its Engineering Department.Role and ResponsibilitiesThe Combat System Architect is responsible for the technical coordination of the design of the Combat System of Italian surface ships, in full cooperation with designated partners (Combat System Integrator for Italian vessels, CS Equipment Suppliers including the one in charge of Anti-Air Missile System, shipyard responsible for CSPI and EM Engineering on Italian vessels).He / She shall contribute technically to the allocation of industrial requirements to the partners for developing a multi-national complex program with high customer expectations.These requirements mainly originate from the CS Integrator / CMS supplier and the shipyard. The CS Architect shall ensure they are exhaustive and coherent. Supported by a team of specialists and under the technical management of the Whole Warship Architect, he/she oversees the development of main systems, ensures the reliability of information provided to the Customer through contractual deliverables.He / She actively participates in defining the Verification and Validation processes, including testing and trials sequencing for CS Equipment and the entire CS. In future project phases, the CS Architect will represent the company during Integration, Testing, Trials, and Acceptance activities, alongside domain specialists. The CS Architect manages transverse studies within his domain (Safety, Performance, EMC/EMI).He / She contributes to waiver analysis, assessment, and upscaling, leveraging CS experience. Regular reports on progress and issues related to CS development, testing, and qualification/acceptance are provided to the WW Architect and the Design WP Manager.The CS Architect serves as the primary interface between the company and the customer regarding CS discussions.He / She, along with other CS specialists, contributes to ECP preparation, bids, contractual amendments, and interactions across design, procurement, and production.Personal Qualities and ExperiencesYou should have a good understanding of standards like ISO 15288 or Mil-Std 499, adapted to naval engineering environments.You must demonstrate successful experience in managing significant functional chains of the combat system on surface vessels.Knowledge of the Combat Management System for frigates and experience in Electromagnetic Engineering on heavily armed Surface Combatants are required.RequirementsMaster''s degree in electronics engineering with proven experience as a CS Architect or specialist in complex Combat System development. Additional qualifications in systems engineering are a plus.Knowledge of combat ships, their functional and physical structures, and multiple functional chains of the combat system is advantageous.Professional proficiency in English is essential; fluency in Italian is a plus.Excellent organizational, leadership, listening, and comprehension skills are necessary to manage design activities across international teams and partners.
