Subsea Cable Installation Engineer:
Introduction
Are you driven by the challenges of offshore installation projects? Do you have a solid background in subsea cable installation, analysis, and operationsespecially within the renewables sector? My client is seeking a Subsea Cable Installation Engineer to join their team and help deliver technically sound and cost-effective solutions. In this role, youll apply your industry experience to all phases of offshore cable installation, from design through to execution.
Key Responsibilities
Develop hydrodynamic models and perform installation analysis based on specific project load conditions.
Design cable laying procedures, including selecting construction methods, vessel spreads, and equipment.
Prepare detailed installation procedures for cable lay and pull-in operations, including task planning, equipment specifications, and deck layouts.
Produce supporting documentation for marine operations.
Take ownership of project engineering deliverables and track progress to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met.
Carry out design calculations and engineering analyses in accordance with relevant industry codes and standards.
Provide engineering support across all project phasesfrom FEED through to offshore operations.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of technical expertise and knowledge within the organization.
(Preferred) Develop supporting technical drawings such as rigging arrangements, storyboards, and deck layouts.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
A bachelors or masters degree in Mechanical, Civil, or Marine Engineering.
3 to 5 years of proven experience in subsea cable installation projects.
Familiarity with relevant offshore industry codes and standards (e.g., DNV, ISO).
Proficiency in using engineering analysis software such as OrcaFlex.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
A proactive, confident, and adaptable mindset.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills; fluent in both written and spoken English.
Willingness to work in offshore environments as required.
